Vodacom: "The other customer is more important"

My first interaction with Vodacom in many a year ends in an appalling manner.

Needless to say I questioning if I should bother to try a second time.

Application for a MiFi device doing the online thing. Everything seemingly happened as it should. Got a message with a reference number and all that. Message to verify my email address.

Interacted with an "agent" on through the chat connect thing. First connection was closed by the agent. Second, the lady, Thabile, was "helping" me ... and then said and I quote:

"I will check for you, I am on the call with the customer for a new contract. I will call you."

...then left the session.

I think this ^ was the nice way of saying, you're not as important as the other person I am dealing with. I might get back to you. :erm:

There was no call back.

The other customer was obviously more important than me.

Today, I call in and get told that there are 2 profiles for me, the reference number emailed to me doesn't exist and ... well nothing actually happened.

I now need to explain to the expectant, desperate recipient that I have created false hope :(

Why Vodacom linked my cellphone without my permission

Good morning,
I signed up for a new contract with Vodacom on number 072xxxxxxx, which was successfully done. On the contract documents I specifically informed Vodacom that i would like to get my statement via post which i provided. My reason for doing such as the phone was going to be used for business purpose and be linked to my cellphone allowance. To my surprise Vodacom without my consent took my old personal 082 xxxxxxx number contract and linked it with the new contract and make it one billing. This combined billing then gets emailed instead of it being sent via post as per the terms of the contract which is very frustrating.
The following are my challenges:
1. My Employer can’t audit my statement with personal contract on it.
2. Challenges regarding tax certificate due to the fact that it includes personal contract
3. I need to receive my statement via post as stated on the contract.
I took the matter up with Vodacom and they’re refusing to remedy the situation. I didn’t ask for my cellphone contracts to be linked and be billed as one account , Vodacom completely ignore the contract which is binding.

I'm overseas and usually do my parents' upgrades online.

WELL

My dad lost his phone is some godforsaken place, walked into vodacom, got a new one on contract, apparently on the same old contract number.

Now he lost his bloody phone again a year later and I'm busy spying if he blacklist the sim. Here's the plottwist. He's due for an upgrade according to the website. Less than a year later from where he apparently already upgraded?

It's impossible to ask what the hell he did in that vodacom shop, he can't remember, and I can't find a way to view all the contracts under his name (ID number). There's no order history either????

Now I don't know wtf is going on.

To add to the boiling pot of Charlie Foxtrot, my mom and my little bro has one contract each under my dad's name. This is normal as he pays for it. My mom is due for an upgrade (normal), but when asked about confirming via telephone, Vodacom displayed a number unknown to me. Not my mom's number (That I'm trying to upgrade).

Can anyone help me out?

The data is only available via the Vodacom App. I've been using this promotional daily 1gb data for weeks now. Been saving me a lot of cash. I use a lot of data and don't have access to wifi.

I found the above entry in my bill for R4.00 and cannot find any info about this charge. Any clues anyone please?

My husband goes to a Vodacom shop to upgrade his contract and the consultant asks him if he wants his data transferred to which he replies yes please, he is then told it will take 20 minutes and he can come back.

He returns to which the consultant states that he's not finished and eventually bills him R1247.00 of which R200.00 is for a cover and R150.00 Admin - acceptable, the balance of nearly R900.00 is for transferring of data?? when questioned we are told that the consultant told him it will cost R160.00 per set up??? My husband never even heard him say that.... What does set up mean? why was it not explained in detail and that it will cost nearly R1000.00!!!! No indication of cost was explained and then he still states he should have charged more!! Also no signage of extra costs displayed in the store for customers to read and maybe query?

After contacting the head office I'm told that that's what they charge because they are losing out on another customer sale/commission ?? Who by the way earns R900.00 per hour ?? What a rip off .

When this contract is finished Vodacom will not see us again!

I have been trying to get a solution for an error that Vodacom had made more than a year ago. I started querying my high bills in April and had been trying since April to get my money - more than R6000- into my bank account. They have made that mistake, then charged me for something else, then I had to get that reversed. Anything they paid in fits and starts so far has gone into their Vodacom account. Three mistakes and counting.

It is like a vicious circle. The request is made, escalated and either dies a quiet death or they pay the wrong amount into the account.

Are there anyone from Vodacom who cares?

Vodafone running Vodacom has no calculator memory?

When away from the PC, and hand-held Scientific calculator not with me, I find the cell phone's calculator useful as a 'stand-in' calculator for electronic equations, with one drawback - no [M] emory buttons seem apparent.
When doing complex equations, a memory is useful for storing a 'constant' to come back to later.
Is there a secret trick to this, or is there a er.. "loss of memory" :whistle:
Phone is a Vodafone 786 'Smart-4-Mini'.

Anyone else having issues getting onto the My Vodacom portal?

The domain seems to have changed from what I had saved - its now https://myvodacom.secure.vodacom.co.za/.

I have been trying for two days now to login. I get emails and SMSs confirming that I've logged in (even the OTP login option works) but as soon as I login I get redirected back to the login screen. Its an endless loop.

Shocking Service Wakkerstroom

Over the long weekend we travelled to Wakkerstroom for my 40th birthday. We stayed at the Wetlands Resort and when we arrived I was pleasantly surprised to find that my phone displayed full signal. What transpired was an absolute joke. You could not make calls effectively, sms's did not arrive on time, data was so erratic I just decided to forget about the outside world for the weekend. I had a chat with the owners of the resort and they tell me the town has had this problem now for 6 months and Vodacom cannot fix the problem. How does one go about getting this resolved as calling the help desk does not seem to work.n Imagine trying to do internet banking and your OTP SMS never arrives and you have to drive 70KM out of town to get connected when you already have a tower 500m away. Can anyone give me an exact reason for the ongoing problem?
