I am using Vodacom UMTS (HSDPA) to monitor some IP surveillance cameras in Somerset West.
We are using an IPSEC VPN with an UMTS Router to do so.
Starting a few days ago the connection is very slow during daytime. I have ping times of up to 2s (normal is around 250ms) and cannot access any resources in my VPN network in Somerset West. Even the HTML config interface of the router is not reachable because the connection is to slow. No chance to use the cameras at all.
At night it is no problem to access the network. Speeds are fine and I can also download larger files.
The UMTS Connection is fine with a good signal strength (at least at night when I can check it).
Is currently there a major UMTS Network congestion in Somerset West during daytime?
We have been using the connection for more than a year now and this is the first time we really have problems.
