Hi all.
Back in Cape Town after 13 years of being in NZ. Staying in Lansdowne, till I get things sorted for the long term.
However one thing that's an issue for me here, is the quality of Vodacom's coverage.
I have my ex Spark NZ issue galaxy S5. for which I purchased a Vodacom Sim upon arrival at O R Tambo Airport, along with 2gb of data.
All was working fine, until my arrival at the accommodation in Lansdowne.
The connection is flaky, WhatsApp calls drop out, and say "Reconnecting" my Spotify account always jumps to offline mode, and while there is Wifi here, since I've just arrived, it's a Telkom hotspot, so I'd need Telkom details first. I thought if I disabled my LTE, it would improve, as I only get one bar of 4G here, as apposed to full 3g reception, there was no improvement at all. Yet tethering it to mobile broadband, and accessing it with my laptop web performance seems to be fine. I'm going to go to Cavendish Square later in the day, and see at switching to MTN, or Cell C, but the thing is I already budgeted for Vodacom, and the Data bundle, and airtime I wouldn't want to start again.
Any suggestions, on why Reception is so bad?
I'd put it to congestion, but at 5-6am when people are still sleeping, that's unusual.
Thanks
