Vodacom - Harder to get rid of than an STD

So, my cellphone contract (R149 a month) expired 4 months ago, Vodacom never let me know this happened and have been charging me R500 a month at what they now call the "Normal Price" for 2gb of data per month. I made sure the contract was properly cancelled at the beginning of Sep, at the end of Sep I got a bill of R2900 - apparently when they bump your contract to higher rates, they remove any limits (mine was R100 - I am almost certain that there must be someone high up at vodacom laughing his ass off).

As I do not like the idea of getting blacklisted, I payed the R2900, phoned vodacom and confirmed that it was all over... and sure as anything, i just got a bill from vodacom for another R501 - I phoned, i was angry (as any normal person would be) and got told that i must pay for Octobers internet as well (even though the card is on prepaid).

I honestly don't know how to escape these people, obviously the consumer protection act is not a factor for Vodacom, it is blatantly illegal what they are doing and yet they still are allowed to operate - I thought telkom were the scum of south african communications.... I guess I was wrong.

SO, I have send the following into vodacom... I am curious to see what comes of it.
Hi there

My cellphone (data) contract expired months ago, I got no notice from vodacom that this happened but naturally I found out via much higher than what I signed up for amounts coming off my account. So I phoned and got it cancelled (or thought so anyway - haha) and proceeded to cut up the sim card - then I got a bill for R2900 which I payed because i didn't want to get blacklisted (I know how companies like vodacom like to do that kind of thing) - which got me quite angry because not only did vodacom start charging me more, but they also removed the R100 limit (Super scumbag move by the way - well done).

I was content that this was all over, but now in October I received yet another bill for R500 for a sim card that was cut up and contract that (even though it was expired) is meant to have been cancelled.

As a web developer, I don't like it when people use the internet to wage little wars and the likes but I feel that if someone at vodacom is able to tell me exactly how to get rid of vodacom when a contract is over, then I can go and spread the news throughout the forums and internet at large. Obviously Vodacom as a company is not bound by the consumer protection act and is more than happy to mess with peoples lives on the whole, but wouldn't it be nice if there was a ray of sunshine out there that could help people get away from vodacom when they planned to?

I would love to be that ray of sunshine, please tell me how to end this little "Vodacom rapes my bank account, Vodacom offers nothing in return for the expenditure" relationship we have going on?

Naturally I will be posting this around the internet and will be appending the response which may or may not provide some closure or guidance on how to end a contract with vodacom.
