Vodacom breach of contract

Hi guys,

Very informative forum :) I was wondering if anyone on here may have a solution to my problem? If posted the following report on Hello Peter and Vodacom's Facebook page:

"On 03/09/2016 (Saturday) I noticed I had not received my monthly allocation of data. I contacted "customer care" and was told a service query (1_29564691) has been opened as the agent can see on her system that the data was not allocated. The agent advised the data allocation is part of my contract so she sees no reason why my data will not be allocated by Monday or Tuesday at the latest.

Tuesday arrives and still no correspondence from Vodacom. I call "customer care" again and the agent I speak to this time tells me that the data will be allocated by Thursday. Thursday rolls by and no correspondence from Vodacom.
I call on Friday and after being tossed around the call centre, I finally get through to the cancellations department. I ask the agent to cancel my contract as Vodacom is not meeting their contractual obligations and he says he will now allocate my data immediately.

It is now Monday (12/09/2016) and still no correspondence from Vodacom. I call cancellations today and on the 4th attempt, after being passed between departments, speak to Kabelo the cancellations department "team leader". He claims if he generates a cancellation request, your "system" will generate a penalty of approx R8000. Pay in R8000 to cancel a contract where Vodacom isn't fulfilling their obligations !? Kabelo then promised to contact me by close of business today with a resolution. I won't hold my breath.

What I can promise is neither myself nor anybody I know will ever deal with Vodacom again. The contracts I have will be cancelled as soon as they are eligible and I will be moving to a service provider who can actually perform the service they promise.

We'll see how well your "customer care" does when it no longer has any customers."

Has anybody else had this issue before? And if so, was it ever resolved?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Krin
