So I got an automated Vetting Application Notification from Vodacom about a week ago at midnight. It bugged me so I logged into the web portal to check on the number in question.
Much to my surprise someone had managed to do an upgrade on data sim and get a phone on a 24 month sub as well as talk time. Normal bill of R108 was already of R1200.
First thing the next morning I went to a Vodacom store to try and resolve, needless to say, they were as unhelpful as possible.
Ended up having to work through the call centre to report the fraud and got a reference number and was told the number would be locked. Promise was made that I would be called back within 48 hours.
Nothing happened.
It's now more than a week later so I called the call centre again. First agents system was offline. Second agent informed me that my case was closed as I had not responded to sms or email from them, which I guess would have been fine if I had ever received anything. Supervisors refused to speak to me as apparently all their systems were also offline.
Anyone have advice on next steps to take?
As I said the first bill was over R1200 which will go off end of the month, interim bill for this month is already of R1000 and Vodacom simply isn't phased.
