Hi Everyone,
So I got a new Vodacom Contract online ,
new phone and Sim was delivered last week Friday.
I requested to port my old pre-paid MTN number to my new Vodacom contract.
I Received a sms saying (MTN has received a request to port my number)
Then a sms with a pin to confirm the port request
and finally a sms to tell me my request to port to Vodacom was received and approved .
On Monday , 3 days after receiving the new phone my number was still not moved to Vodacom.
I called the customer support line and was told the port will take place later that evening, I should keep
my old phone on with old sim inserted and once the device has lost signal i can insert my new sim into the new device
and turn it on, I then received a sms saying my cellphone number will be moved to the vodacom network on 11/01/2016
This unfortunately did not happen so I called again yesterday ,
I was told to do the same thing and received a 2nd sms
saying my cellphone number will be moved to the vodacom network on 12/01/2016.
I woke up this morning and still no luck..... my MTN pre paid sim is still working .
Anyone have any advise or tips?
