Hi all,
I recently got a smallish bill for Data from Vodacom on my contract. Naturally I enquired, and apparently I used up 400 Mbs in 2 days. I know this is possible, but I have wifi both at home and work, and use my emails from my phone's data (and maybe one or two other apps - Google maps - which I don't think is very thirsty ito of data)...
I got them to send me an itemised billing. I understand that they can't give me the details of the sites etc, but what worries me, is that the dates and times do not correspond to any times that I didn't have wifi on (one example is 5 am). When I queried this, I was told that it takes up to 6 hours to reflect. In my above example that means I was on the network around 11 PM - also a time when I had wifi on. I mentioned this and the consultant told me that sometimes it does take longer than 6 hours for the info to reflect
This is complete and utter BS, so basically they tell you that you've used data, but they can't really tell you when, so they could make something up and you just have to pay...
Is there anything (apart from going Pay as you go) that I can do? Surely this is against the CPA?
I also pay for itemised billing monthly, but this data usage report is useless to me - isn't it also against the CPA to charge someone for something that you don't really give them?
